| Symptoms Description | Injuries to the chest can be fife-treatening. These injuries may resulti in damage to either the heart or the lung and cause severe internal bleeding. Rib cage fractures may result in serious injury to vital organs. Deep, oppen wounds allow air to enter the chest cavity; closed woulds usually involve injury to the ribs and possibley underlying structrs. Chest injureies are devided into two groups: 1. closed ches injuries (page 7-1) and b. open chest injuries (page 7-4). |
